Re: Games you're playing and games you're looking fw to

I'm playing several things right now that I quite like but nothing you haven't heard of, and nothing particularly new, at the moment.

I'm on a bit of a Valve kick - just beat Portal 2 a few weeks ago (and spent a few days basically obsessed with fanon!Wheatley after that, he's my new crush, oops) and started Half-Life the other day, and I like it but the mechanics are frustrating. Especially with the ladders. Looking forward to getting through it so I can play HL2. I started DAO about a month ago, but it's on hold right now because Valve. (I was going to get back to it after beating Portal 2. again, oops.)

Basically I came to a lot of these games late. |D

Also been getting into Mass Effect 3 multiplayer with some friends. I'm very, very rusty but it's fun to get better at it and refresh my skills with that game. (If anyone else is also rusty and wants to play together on Origin, please hit me up!)

Portal and Portal 2 are excellent games; I love how re-playable they are. Even if you remember the puzzles they continue to be fun as hell and crazy addicting. Portal 2's story was great too; Wheatley was my boo and I loved his story arc. Even the achievements are fun! (IDK what you're playing the game on, but on 360 there's an achievement called "The part where he kills you." It was absolute perfect timing; I lol'd.)

I think that achievement exists on Steam. Steam has a ton of achievements, and since it was made by Valve I'm thinking they put all the same ones in there for their own games.

Portal 2 was super fun. The plot twists were great too and the ending was !!!!. One of my friends really loves Blue Sky and linked it to me after I finished the game, and I loved that, and then went on the search for other fics, and fell in love with Chelley and Wheatley. But I love a lot of other things about it. GLaDOS is a fantastic antagonist, and Aperture as a whole is so intriguing and just...cool. It's like a living entity of its own.

I also loved so many of the details in the game.

And yes, the puzzles were super fun, and immensely satisfying when you conquered them!
