Is there something wrong with having multiple ships in the same fandom?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Some fandoms really lend themselves to multishipping and some don't, IMO.

I got the sense that it was about shipping more than one person with one character? I agree though, it shouldn't be a big deal.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
....

BAAHHAAHAHAHAHAAHHA

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it depends on the character.

For some characters, I don't mind them being shipped with different characters. Perhaps they can form chemistry with anyone.

Meanwhile, for certain characters, once I ship them with another character, I won't ship them with anyone else, no matter what. (For me, personally, this mainly applies with canon pairings, since the majority of my ships are canon.)

But honestly? You ship whatever you ship. As long as you don't bash or ignore canon characters for the sake of your ship, or just annoy people about it, you're fine.

Now, if this was about platonic shipping, then go ahead. Friendship is awesome.

Long story short, you ship what you ship. I just felt like rambling over here don't mind me, haha.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-20 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, you have to ship one fucking thing forever and ever and ever otherwise your a heartless bitch who doesn't believe in love.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
But would you still ship it if all the fanarts actually made Pansy pug-faced as she is described rather than the prettied up version we get?

I might read that if you wrote it. I'm intrigued. HP could use more femslash anyway.

...Y'know, "lack of fanbase" and "Harry Potter" are two things I never thought I'd hear in the same sentence. You're a lucky bastard, if that's your definition of a rare/obscure ship.

That said, if you want to write it, write it. Don't worry about whether or not it'll be as popular as your previous fan-favorite, for God's sake.

I'd read that!

And what's wrong with having multiple ships?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
If you want to write it you should go ahead and write it. Fic writing is supposed to be fun! And there's no reason to feel guilty about liking and wanting to write for a different ship, people's shipping tastes change over time. If you're not comfortable "defecting" then just make another account to post the Hermione/Pansy fic you write and keep posting any Hermione/Draco you write in your usual accounts.

Write for you, OP, not for the fanbase - btw, a rare ship can give you fewer, but more grateful fans.

All I really have to say about this is that those pairings are two of my favorite Harry Potter ships, so I'd be delighted with you writing for either one.

Personally I'd avidly read any fic that gives Pansy an actual personality outside Draco without doing away with her bitchiness because I currently have found exactly zero.

Also don't feel guilty about having multiple ships; there's nothing to feel guilty about.

Damn, I was all set to ask for recs and then I kept reading.

Uh, there's nothing wrong with writing different ships. Anyone who gets angry over that really needs to get a grip.

Anyway, if you do write it, I'd be interested in reading.

My first lemon femslash fic was Pansy/Hermione. Brings back memories of hs.

Multishipping is awesome. Write whatever you like. That's what fanfic is for

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Please write this story. I am involved in another HP ship but would love to find some good femslash. Everything I find is either written by someone with the mentality of a tween or pure PWP. A nice long fic would be dreamy.

I just so happen to have this lying around...

http://liseuse.dreamwidth.org/tag/pansy+verse

I'm not entirely sure since it's been a while, but it sounds sort of like what you're looking for?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Superb art!

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Damn, Hermione/Pansy somehow sounds way more appealing than Hermione/Draco. Go for it!

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
I don't venture out from my Dramione corner of fandom very often, but I thought Hermione/Pansy was one of the more popular femmeslash ships. D/Hr is my OTP, but I still ship Hermione with others. (Darn you, Wesley boys!) I don't see anything wrong with writing for another pairing. Several well-known Dramione authors write in other pairings, so no worries. (And now I'm curious as to who you are.) :)

Here's a list of recs I found:
http://raven-tiger.livejournal.com/77957.html#cutid1

The PP/HG LJ community which hasn't been updated in forever:
http://pansy-hermione.livejournal.com/

There were some well received stories on kinkfest and darkwitches:
http://hp-kinkfest.livejournal.com/
http://darkwitches.livejournal.com/tag/pairing%3A%20hermione%2Fpansy

And almost 100 fics on A03.

Harry Potter is the land of 1000 pairings. Run free, Anon! Be free! :P

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
If you write it, they will come.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Where are you looking for fics, OP? Hermione/Pansy is easily one of the most popular femslash ships in this fandom.
