It's not about now having someone to root for. I can even root for Walter a bit,in a way. It's just that they all infuriate me in various levels, especially in the human interaction parts, which are a big part of the series. The whole "intervention" think made m skin crawl so much I actually had to pause it.

DA: I had that problem in that scene too. Though it didn't stop me from loving the show, I think I get what your problem was, and yes, the characters did get more interesting and less infuriating from season 2 onward. Most of them, most of the time, of course.

I thought that was the entire point of that scene, actually. they all meant well but everyone (except for marie) was being ridiculously selfish about it. you were supposed to be infuriated.

(Not trying to push you into watching more if it's not your bag, just saying that imo that was intentional. it's supposed to be as uncomfortable for the audience as it was for everyone sitting in that living room.)
