A thread for general Teen Wolf talk
Am I the only one who thinks that now that Scott's an alpha, the effects department is really dropping the ball on his glowy eyes? I mean, Derek's alpha flashlight eyes were hilarious and I'm glad they're not going that route, but the only time Scott's have stood out to me in this half the season is when he showed his face to Kira. Is Posey squinting all the time? IDK. (And they seem to have dropped the lens flare on photos, which I mean, I never really liked the way that worked, but I'm not sure I like just having it ignored either.)

IMO Posey looked much better with yellow eyes, so for superficial reasons I miss those. I like Derek's blue eyes but again, the only time they've really stood out for me was during his flashback episode, which for obvious reasons was a big deal. Those were some seriously glowy eyes.
Oh, but I did rather like Kira's eyes last episode. They suit her well.

Did it jump from his mom to him since he was with her when she died? Will the dementia still be there when they get rid of the nogitsune? Now, I want to know if the girl in the accident that told the Sheriff to go to his wife was a kitsune. So many questions... that will probably only get half answered.

But you're right, now that Stiles has been more or less confirmed as having that brand of dementia...it either has to be a nogitsune thing that may well go away, or Scott has to turn him. Or he dies, I guess. I'm not sure what I think about any of those options.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 02:53 am (UTC)(link)Derek said the electrical shock awoke the nogitsune's power inside Stiles and it got me thinking it was there all along and might be related to the dementia (and by default his mother). The dementia could be a side effect of being possessed; the nogitsune being a dark spirit that feeds on pain death and chaos, which are all parts of the disease, but it was too weak to manifest before this and could only jump from host to host. (Stiles was alone with his mother when she died, so if it was possessing her it probably jumped to him then)
That could be the reason it was 'offended', someone did something to substantially weaken it in the past and now it's getting it's revenge.
Either way, I have a feeling the real big bad of 3b is going to be whoever offended the nogitsune. I feel like the nogitsune is the Alpha Pack of 3b and the offender will be the Jennifer Blake.

Peter is EXTREMELY offensive but if this comes back to Peter I'll never stop laughing; can everything in the history of Beacon Hills be traced back to the Hale family?

Before the show aired I thought that Peter was going to find out about the nogitsune, try to take its power (don't ask me how), and the nogitsune was going to crush him effortlessly. And now I'm really disappointed that didn't happen.

IIRC it's been said that her death wasn't supernatural. Granted I can't remember when or where and even then Jeff could totally go back on it, but I think she died from her illness and the nogitsune wasn't involved.
The disease might be the nogitsune trying to trick everyone into believing Stiles is sick. I don't believe he actually has the disease because I don't think TPTB would kill him off anytime soon and it would be a massive bummer to have a long, drawn out storyline focusing on Stiles' inevitable death. I mean, they could do it, I just don't think they will.
Or want them too.Best case scenario, the dementia is miraculously gone when the nogitsune leaves his body; that's pretty likely for this show too.Maybe the girl in the accident was a seer?

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 03:33 am (UTC)(link)Since the show likes to play musical alphas, Scott could heal Stiles - although that actually feels like something that would enhance a "True Alpha" rather than make him lose his alphaness. They could also go for the bite, but that doesn't seem likely.

I think you're right, healing a sick person does sound like something that would enhance a true alpha. The show could go that route. I think that's more likely than giving Stiles the bite, because we need at least one human teenager on this damn show. (I'm not forgetting Allison! But...I also have the feeling she's going to be the major character death, so...)

It was revealed on an episode of Wolf Watch, the one before last, that Lydia was going to meet another Banshee this season.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-19 02:40 am (UTC)(link)Scott's Alpha eyes have been less noticeable, but then again he hasn't really been showing them a lot lately. Maybe we'll see more of it later in the season? Though I think the effects have been maybe a little more mediocre. The whipping power line in the last two episodes looked really animated to me, almost cartoonish, and broke the tension a bit.
I know some people don't like her because she's interfering with the Scott/Alison ship, but I'm becoming really fond of Kira. I think she's an interesting character and I like her dynamic with the other characters she's interacted with so far.
I am loving the Nogitsune possessed Stiles. The fact that he didn't do any laughing or gloating when he stopped pretending to be Stiles, just stabbed Scott and knocked out Kira entirely unannounced, was one of my favorite things. Dylan did a fantastic job of playing a character that was crafty and mischievous, but also malicious and menacing - no big evil grins or villain laughter, just more subtle facial expressions. I am so looking forward to more of this.

Yesssssssssss. I expect evil grins and villain laughter from Teen Wolf, but I'm so glad that Dylan isn't playing Nogitsune!Stiles that way. His transformation has been extremely subtle but profound; in the scene where he stabs Scott he was an entirely different person. I was blown away (and sufficiently creeped out) by how different he was; that wasn't an ounce of Stiles present in that body.

"I AM THE DEMON WOLF!!!!!" and "I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE ALPHA!!!" and the Darach popping up like a horror house manikin and villain monologueing is what we got before. Now we have the Nogitsune being all conversational and saying "It's okay, it's okay" almost soothingly after attacking two people, then concisely explaining that it's plan was to get Scott to absorb pain and suffering so it could eat it before doing just that.

I loved how the nogitsune was almost playful when it was flitting over the handle of that katana, and the "It's okay, "it's okay", it's so nonchalant about it. Then there's this split second where he looks annoyed at Scott, like Scott's making too much noise or overreacting. Holy shit that nogitsune is a bamf.

Part of me thinks that the show is trying to shove some misdirection our way and that Deputy Parrish will be Peter's son. We have no evidence either way, but he's getting screentime for a reason...
Is he secretly evil? He's stupidly hot and likable, so I'm worried he's secretly evil. And part of me is really worried about Kira too, after Stiles' "Never trust a kitsune" speech. I don't really think Kira is going to be a part of the problem (more than likely she'll be part of the solution), but I'm paranoid and suspicious of everything right now.

I'm finding the Peter's-a-dad revelation very tacked on and completely unnecessary. If they needed another Hale to have survived, ok, fine it fits with some of the other bits of stupid writing in the series, but she really didn't need to be Peter's child. It's a character arc he doesn't need as he already has a ton of potential story-lines for them to use.

Malia does look to be the girl in the institution, but I think if Stiles ends up kissing her or having sex with her it'll be under the nogitsune's control. I know Stiles wants sex but I don't think he would decide, "Right here, right now, in this mental institution with this extremely confused and conflicted girl I will lose my virginity. SCORE." (And if he does that's gross.)
Yea, IA; where did the whole 'Peter wants to be alpha' thing go? Granted we've had so much going on this season that maybe they just haven't gotten around to it yet, but are we just ignoring that? And there are only so many surviving Hale's I can buy being secretly alive; I hope they're through with that now.
