I don't know how and have no desire to learn how to use a tampon.

I know how, but it is uncomfortable so I don't. D:

I know how from the pamphlet that came in the box my sister used to buy, NOOOOOOPE. I have never wanted to use a tampon and doubt I ever will.

I don't use them because I think they are kind of gross. I want the blood out of my body!

You are not missing anything. Keep on with your awesome tampon ignorant self! (not sarcasm)

I've never used one and I'm in my thirties. Not squeamish about my body or anything, just don't care to.

Oh same. Though for me it's probably a side effect of some other stuff I have going on. :B

My mom told me about toxic shock when I was little so yeah, nope.

This was me for a long time. Now I can only use the ones without an applicator, though I admit I do like them a whole lot more than pads now.

When I started my period, I wanted to use tampons, because my mom uses them. Was a bit too scared to try them, though, so I ended up using pads for 6 or 7 years. Changed to tampons a couple years ago, and I would honestly never go back. I love the bloody things to death, and wish I'd used them right off the bat.

Though, I definitely understand why someone wouldn't care to try/use them.

You don't know what you're missing, tampons are way more comfortable than pads. I never realized how much of an annoyance pads were until I switched over.

I only used tampons once, when I didn't want to miss swimming because of my period. NEVER AGAIN. They hurt to put in, they hurt to take out, and the whole time between, there was this annoying dull ache down there.

Now I can use the Diva cup for things like swimming, or if I'm going to be out for a long time and don't want to deal with pads getting messy, or with having to change them and carry extras. It does still hurt to put in though, but not while it's in. I'm not sure why tampons caused me so much misery, but I'm not trying them again.

I know how to use them but I don't want to, I can't stand the thought of anything going 'up there' during my time of the month.

I hate using them, but I still do because I fail at pads. I can't for the life of me figure out how to not end up with blood all over my pants if I'm only using a pad.

I always use the overnight extra-long versions, regardless of time of day. And Always makes a pad now that's...kind of...like...memory foamish? They call it the Infinity, and it's amazing.

And it's probably a good thing I never did because (TMI) they can cause toxic shock syndrome, and I recently learned I have a condition where I bleed excessively - to the point of having anaemia, and going through lots and lots of pads.

So yeah, if I'd been using tampons, it could have been a lot worse.

Me neither *high fives* No judging people who use them, they're just not for me. I'm 23 and had my period at 12, so, damn, almost half my life now...I don't have any regular activities that would require them (swimming, etc.) and I'm perfectly ok with pads only.

It's your choice, but they're just so much more convenient than pads.

I used them for years and prefer them to pads, but had to stop and switch when the pressure of having them in there began aggravating my hemorrhoid symptoms. Can't use a menstrual cup (which was a little trickier and slightly less comfortable but much cheaper) for the same reason.

I've long believed that "pads vs. tampons" was the most hilariously pointless argument on the internet (tied with "boxers vs. briefs") and this thread isn't getting nearly nasty enough to satisfy.

I don't think you're missing much, but then, I have a condition which has made my every attempt at using tampons unbearably painful, so take that with a grain of salt.

I know how, but they make me nauseous, so I don't.
