It's not done yet, but I actually really love this Chuck/Firefly crossover where Jayne and River get sent back in time and we learn that Jayne is a descendent of Casey/Ellie. Didn't really care for how Devin was disposed of, but I can get over it.

Uh, this is the only one I can think of right now because I haven't read much fic lately. It's a (very) recent Teen Wolf fic set after the nogitsune leaves Stiles, and I think it deals with the aftermath beautifully. It is Sterek (which I know a lot of people here don't care much for), but there's not much of it (and frankly, I think I would've liked the fic a bit more if it had been gen because even though I ship it, it was so sudden. Still, great little fic).

Yessssssss, I want more like it. I want ALL the 'Stiles deals with the aftermath of the nogistune' fic. I'm sad the season is almost over because 3b has been GLORIOUS, but I'm looking forward to the fic.

I wanted to like that one. It had so many elements that I love, but I just couldn't get into the flow. I'll have to try again later when I'm in a more organized frame of mind.

You aren't obligated to like anything! But I can see why you might be thrown off. The writing is wonderful and I feel like it's quite realistic, but it might not be for you.

Oh I know! It's just got so many elements that I like. But I have ADD and sometimes my brain is not very good at organized reading, so I tend to bookmark fics like this for later days when I'm thinking straighter. :)

Ahhhhhh, alright, that makes sense! I imagine that must make concentration hard sometimes and the writing of that fic threw me off a bit at first too so maybe just leave it for later when you feel up to it. It's a good one, but a bit screwy.

It's a Sterek fic (sort of) that actually addresses the age difference and the not-okay. Since someone already mentioned the subject under the Teen Wolf secret, I figured I'd link it.

The Freezer Burn series.

Long, Steve-centric (gen, only one fic really has romance and that's Nat/Bucky). Very realistic take on the MCU, how Steve would adapt to the 21st century and modern military intelligence, how HYDRA, AIM, and other terrorist groups and villains (i.e. even Doom and Lukin) would 'work' in the real world, etc.

My absolute Avengers favorite. Does not get nearly the attention it deserves. :) If Steve is the ideal supersoldier, I love this fic because of how it focuses on the soldier part without forgetting the super part. :D

This sounds exactly like the kind of MCU fic I've been looking for, thanks!

I love how this one has Thorin going over all the things he did wrong the first time and actively trying to do better, like soothing Bilbo's feelings about having his home invaded (also dumping the blame for that squarely on Gandalf's shoulders) and not actively resisting going to Rivendell, instead wanting to do it on his terms, not Gandalf's, and actually being polite to Elrond and giving him sensible arguments as to why the Company is going on the quest.
