I hate Steven because he's one of those annoying little shits who never listen and fuck things up constantly, only to be shown to be right in the end/rewarded for their shittery.

This. His design is cute, and I've no issue with fat people in cartoons (like, whoa, it's not glorifying fatness just by existing, and it's really weird to think that), but Steven's a little shit and I really can't stand him.

THANK YOU! man he endangers people ALL the time and he just gets pats on the back and the main three ladies telling him how great he is! I just want the crystal gems to YELL AT HIM SOMETIMES, point out why he fucked up and how it hurt others. jeez! I feel like the show would be better without him. But then it probably wouldn't have gotten greenlighted. It would make it a "girl show" and cartoon network feels like those are too risky!

I agree, I don't give a crap about Steven's character design but I find his personality obnoxious and he's the main reason I didn't pick up the show.

(I also would have preferred an all female cast instead of shoehorning in a comedy relief male character.)
