Do you think they do pay attention to what the audience wants? I ask because I was talking with someone earlier about how little Jeff Davis seems to care about his fan base. I mean, hitting everyone over the head with the twins, when I have yet to see any part of the fan base that's particularly enamored with them. Added another dick-head teenaged boy next season, when I don't think anyone wants that. Not putting any more Danny time in. Continuing to abuse Isaac. Refusing to answer any of the many plot holes/continuity problems the show has. Shoving Stydia down everyone's throats (I know there are Stydia fans, don't get me wrong. But they're a small group.)

tl;dr, I get the feeling Jeff Davis gives zero fucks about what anyone wants but Jeff Davis, especially his fans.

I like the twins? Not so fond of them getting a free pass for their part in murdering Erica and Boyd, or how the disapproval is a bare mention, but I like that it's not entirely forgotten and that they're trying to find a way to save their own asses and get in with Scott. I'm probably for sure in the minority section though.

Also, paying complete attention to a fanbase and catering to it sounds rather counter intuitive to being a story teller. At some point you have to weigh the marketability of your show (including keeping viewers) and being able to have creative control.

Well, I don't think he would cater to the fanbase to the point of sabotaging the show (the main demographic seems to be young women, hot teenage boys are their bread and butter) or ignoring his own preferences, but he doesn't seem to be ignorant or fighting the tide just to be contrary, either, or Stiles would have been kept on the sidekick backburner instead of getting tons more screentime, background, more relevance to the plot, and his actor getting to flex hardcore. Maybe it's just a case of Davis' vision coincidentally aligning with fandom's love for Stiles, sure, but I feel like the guy would have to be living in space to not notice or care about the howling when it comes to Stiles.
