I've been thinking a lot about a social experiment that was done by a TV show. They had a white man, black man, and white woman all try to steal a bike. When the white woman was trying to steal it, multiple passersby asked her if she needed help, and one man actually wound up stopping and breaking the lock for her. He couldn't conceive of a woman committing that sort of crime, because ladybits and stuff.

I'm not going to go around committing crimes. But I'd rather someone consider me capable of it than assuming that, because I have a vagina, I would never do something so "impure."

I agree so much. And this is why I can't stop facepalming at morons complaining about Kill la Kill and how sexist it is and how offensive and other stupidities. Most of the ladies in Imaishi's shows are fucking amazing, strong independent women who take no shit from anyone. If you're going to ignore this just because they are showing skin, I'm gonna judge you. Hard.

Difference being that Ryuuko gets constantly harassed and creeped on by Mako's dad and Aikuro and each time it's played off as some kinda fun harmless mischief (while in real life these situations are TERRIFYING). Also the Senketsu scene in ep1 was made incredibly rapey what with him groping her tits and all.

None of that shit ever happens in PSG! The girls are always in control of their situation and don't get pointlessly humiliated to score easy faps from fanboys.

I tried watching this show. Wasn't really my cup of tea but I agree with the sentiment.

Meh, I think this show is just being more open and explicit in their way of portraying how important sex seems to be in the development of female characters. I mean, whether she's considered a slut or a pure perfect angel, it has to do with what she does with her lady bits. I'd much prefer more female characters whose story doesn't really have anything to do with what she does with her vagina, or what is implied she does with her vagina now or in the future, and just focuses on non-sexual, non-romantic interactions.

Don't know if that makes sense, but there you go.
