Of COURSE most people hate Tumblr
Teal deer says, "Tumblr is no different than any other website other than the fact that it's populated largely by teenage girls, therefore it must be a piece of shit."

(Also, please forgive my ignorance, but what 'certain sci-fi movie' are you referring to? My curiosity is piqued)

I get that there were two other actors who rejected the role (although as far as I know, neither of them were Middle Eastern or Indian) before BC got it. And I get that casting a Middle Eastern or Indian man as the terrorist would be unseemly, especially since the movie came out fairly soon after the Boston Bombing. But really, having one other Middle Eastern character who was capable and worked for the good guys would have quieted potential accusations. And then I have a bunch of problems with Khan from an artistic and not political perspective, too, but that's a discussion for my fellow film-watching friends (say that three times fast).
Teal deer says, "It is indeed the Star Trek movie with Cucumberpatch, as the anon above me said."

(Anonymous) 2014-02-21 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)I have nothing but praise for teenage girls who prefer material that is not literary or cinematic manure, even if it has its flaws, and who furthermore manage not to be judgemental-as-fuck moral absolutists or self-indulgent whiners. They do exist on Tumblr, they're just not the majority.
