So you get off on watching videos of REAL people getting hurt and the pain and worry their partners go through. I can see why you would want to keep this a secret. I know this is an any kink goes sort of community but you have to draw the line someplace.

Not the OP, but this is figure skating, on display, and it involves tripping over whilst trying to be the ~bestest and sometimes failing. It's not really the same kind of hurt as, say, kinking on videos of American soldiers torturing foreign civilians.

People still get hurt in it though. Look at the Olympics. There were plenty of skaters throughout all four events that the commentators noted had missed a lot of time on the ice due to injuries. You even had Plushenko, a real contender for the gold in the men's skate, have to drop out due to an injured back.

Getting off to hurt people is sick.

There are people who watch NASCAR just for the crashes, and people who watch hockey just for the fights. It's something about human nature.

Anyway, figure skaters (and other athletes) know and understand the risks that they take. They determine that these risks are worth the joy that they otherwise find in the sport. That makes this situation different from, say, an accident or an instance wherein someone is inflicting harm upon another.

I have no expectation of faceplanting when I'm walking down the hall from my bedroom to the kitchen. I do, however, have a reasonable expectation of faceplanting when I'm engaging in a sport in which faceplanting is common.

So you feel no sympathy for someone who gets hurt just because they knew it was a possibility? It's a possibility I could get into a deadly car accident every time I drive. Does that mean people should get enjoyment out of my tragedy?

You do realize people die in these accidents right? Today in ski cross there were two bad falls in back to back races. It wasn't funny, it was horrifying. It's double horrifying when you remember that in a training run for the same race a few days ago a skier needed emergency spinal surgery.

Anyone watching these sports hoping to see falls need help because there's something wrong with them.
