No one has said No. 6 yet?!?!?!

I believe it's not even classified as BL, but rather shounen. The love story is wonderful (2 guys) and there is no defined "seme/uke" or whatever. One of the guys, the tougher one, even (SPOILERS not really but just in case) crossdresses and has a sort of female persona (/spoilers). I don't think "being gay" is really discussed, and the anime suffers from being too short to really develop its interesting premise but... an absolute recommendation.

I would also say Mirage of Blaze, as a non-BL male/male love story.

Unless you're looking for anime that specifically deals with being gay... it's hard to separate "gay" from the BL/GL categories. But those two came to mind.
