If you love the book, really, don't go. It'll hurt too much.
Will's now 13/14 and American, his family is abusive, there's no Arthurian mythology (heck, no pagan elements whatsoever), the ladyperson who lived in the mansion and was in a wheelchair can now walk and fight with a sword, Merriman fights with a mace or something, Will has a twin who was taken by the Dark (I shit you not), Max (remember the artsy brother?) also becomes a bad guy, there are bad kung fu scenes, Maggie (the girls who gets the Walker to betray the Light) is now a love interest for Will, the Walker's just not in it AND I COULD GO ON.
Or view it as something that's absolutely nothing to do with the book EVER, but then you're still left with a crappy Harry Potter knock off.

How dare they mess with the most awesome book series in existance?!
..oh wait... because they CAN. This makes me worry for the Golden Compass also >.>
