Of course people are allowed to move on.

However, it's human for those who are left behind to feel a little sad that they don't have as many people to play with. Resentment is a close cousin, because you remember the "glory days" of your fandom, and everyone left you behind.

So I don't think they're being an asshole, just expressing their feelings on the matter.

I agree. (Also not OP but yeah, I've felt resentful before for silly reasons.)
