I enjoyed the movie Lola rennt myself, and the acapella group Vocaldente, if that helps? And I think the Asterix and Obelix movies in German, plus you could see about getting your hands on the comics, maybe? Or just see if you can get a German version of a book you really like.

Oh Lola rennt is a good one! Forgot about that. And very easy to understand without subtitles.

Yep! It made it super helpful for me, at least. :D

Also, OP, you might like the movie M, but I don't know for sure; it depends on how much you like suspence/drama, as it's a film from 1931 about a serial killer of children, and the people trying to catch him.

So.... Good movie, but kind of dark.

Aren't Asterix and Obelix French originally?

Yep! But they were translated into German (as one of the many languages they were translated into), and I thought it might be fun for the OP to see how the wordplay/puns play out?

As for the movies... I totally thought there was a German movie based on this music video, but I guess it's just a random German music video or something? I'm not completely sure. |D

Nope that song seems to just be added to the German soundtrack. It would be really strange if it was a German movie. Asterix and Obelix is the most stereotypicly French thing ever. The French even built a theme park of them to counter the ''horrible imperialism'' of the American Disney park.

That explains a lot, actually. I had honestly just figured that Germany had made one for whatever reason. (I don't know a lot about the movies; I've never been able to get my hands on them.) It's funny, but while I know intellectually that Asterix and Obelix is French, I was introduced to it by my dad, who read it growing up in Germany, so I have a hard time keeping it straight sometimes. |D

Thanks for the correction anon!

Glad to be of service. I used to think they were Belgian. You aren't they only one who was confused

Thirding Lola rennt. Great movie.

And the Asterix animated movies are also great.
