Oh, and for music I recommend the acapella band Wise Guys. It's hard to say which one I like best, but I really adore Weltmeister, Am Anfang, Jeden Samstag, Aber sonst Gesund, Sing mal wieder and Nur für Dich.


Die Fantastischen Vier, Wir sind Helden, Juli, Die Toten Hosen and Die Ärzte are also good bands. Christina Stürmer has some good songs (I like Engel fliegen einsam, Liebt sie dich so wie ich? and Ich lebe.)

Oh, and Reinhard Mey! I like his funny songs the most (Klempner, Der Mörder ist immer der Gärtner, Ankomme Freitag den 13., Der Schuss im Backoven, Annabell,...) but his more serious songs are also great. Basically, everything single of his songs. Except Über den Wolken, I cannot stand that song. :/

Oooohhh, I totally forgot Reinhard Mey in my comment. I love some of his more serious songs as well, like "Das Meer" and "Kaspar" and "Die Eisenbahn-Ballade".
