what characters/ships did you HATE until fandom ruined it for you?

I was trying to think of a character or ship that fandom has ruined for me and I kept coming up blank. But I can think of a bunch of characters or ships I disliked until fandom went overboard and my contrary self starting loving them in retaliation. I can't be the only one who has done that, right?

I'm not much of a shipper, but fandom turned my apathy towards Mako/Gamagoori into "aww, that's actually really cute."

I wasn't too fond of a lot of the women of SGA but fandom's automatic hate for a lot of them had me taking a second look and finding reasons to love them.

I've pretty much done this with Sterek. I'm not even in the fandom, but the hate keeps showing up untagged on my dash, so I aggressively read AU Sterek fics and leave nice comments. :)

Lori from The Walking Dead. She made a lot of stupid decisions, but the sheer amount of misogyny I saw in the fandom's criticisms of her made me like her out of spite.

Her and Andrea both dude. I swear everytime somebody says "Andrea got what she deserved for sleeping with Shane and the Governor" I want to scream bloody murder.

I didn't hate her but I used to be impatient with Skyler scenes in Breaking Bad. Hearing how people hated her guts turned me into a strong sympathizer. She's one of my favorite characters now.

Steven Moffat. He's not perfect and some of what he says is problematic, but the sheer hate and vitrol from some corners of the Doctor Who fandom have made me want to defend his handling of the show (which is spurred on, I feel in some part by SJWs bandwagoning). Yes, he says skeevy things about women, and yes, his handling of Who isn't perfect (he chruns through plot after plot after plot sometimes to the detriment of the characters) but I don't nearly see the amount of misogny, racism, and homophobia that the anti - Moffat Whovians and their SJW allies claim there are. Of course on the flipside, like I said, Moffat's not perfect and the fans who think he can do no wrong can get on my nerves too.
