For what it's worth I'm finding Tumblr a nice place. I'm not in any big fandoms, but I follow a small one, a few other things, and if anyone gets too grouchy or whatever, I just unfollow. I find the feminist posts refreshing and can scroll past them if I'm not in the mood. There are things to think about, like the way women are treated, and a place to talk about that where one isn't automatically shot down. I still mostly use it for following fannish subjects, but it feels like a safe place to think about things that influence women. Like, I will feel comforatble talking about things that affect women there without worrying about getting jumped on. And...I disagree with some things. that's ok. I can scroll past, comment my disagreement, or unfollow. I can make it comfortable for me. Maybe big fandoms are different. I KNOW how toxic fandoms can be from other experiences, but I'm not trying to be that deeply involved right now. Just rollin' along.
