oh hey there

And hey, maybe I write feelsy pointless tripe too, idk. It's just a bummer that everybody hates on the fandom because I'm finding it a lot of fun in my corner, and this was after a long, painful hiatus from fandom activities in general. I wasn't able to write anything at all, and since joining SNK fandom I've probably written 60-70k in a six months, which is way more than I'd been clocking before.
My Ao3's under the same name, if you want to go look or whatever XD

(Anonymous) 2014-02-25 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)don't always agree w/ your characterization and stuff, but its better than many others' imo. and stuff like the PR au is fun
and even when i dislike or disagree w/ some stuff, your writing is never ever what i'd call meaningless garbage
Re: oh hey there
tbh I wasn't so much looking for people to say "oh no your fics are good", it's just a general theme that I notice a lot. Because okay, I agree that there aren't many masterpieces, but I've read good, solid, fun fics that were not stupid AUs. There's just this general feeling I get that people are generally looking down on the entire fandom and all its authors, so as an author myself it kind of miffs me. Not to mention that as people have said, it's a relatively young fandom. Some of those authors are just starting out, and I'm glad they don't come across these opinions if only because it would be a shame for some of them to lose faith in themselves. Fandom's a good place to practice writing in a fun environment.
As for the superheroes - it's kind of the catch-22 of fics, the multiparter thing XD like, if people aren't interested it doesn't encourage writing it, but a lot of people don't want to invest in a fic that might not get finished, I get that.

(Anonymous) 2014-02-26 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)Most fics in every fandom aren't to my taste, but I found 3-4 in SNK that I like without really looking, so that's a good hit rate in my book. Have I just been really lucky?
