I pulled up a bit of her stuff and honestly, the songs I heard sounded more like fiddle than violin, in which case the dancing-while-playing is not "posing," it's just the way a lot of fiddlers connect.

Case in point, this old clip from a film about Cape Breton fiddlers, showing Natalie MacMaster stepdancing while fiddling:

Which is always one of my favourite elements of her shows!

I personally like a more traditional dance-hall fiddle but Lindsey is pretty darned good, too.

The way you put the word in quotes makes me think you're thinking of the wrong kind of posing.
OP didn't seem to be referring to being pretentious or acting like something you're not, but rather to actually striking poses. Being all Vogue and whatnot.

The tone of the secret made me think the OP thinks Lindsey is trying too hard to be special, which I guess is what I was getting at with the quotation marks. Fiddlers move when they play, and a lot of them dance, and I think she looks fun.
