METAL IS TERRIBLE POP MUSIC IS GOD

It's not bland or uninspired. It's universal and it touches very basic emotional places but that's not that same as being bland or uninspired. Really great pop music is the best. It's absolutely fantastic. It's just the best.

I said good pop music, not... pleasant, workmanlike, but ultimately mediocre pop music (not going to throw Biebs under the bus just for rhetorical purposes). It's definitely better than endless guitar solos and screaming. Go listen to some Prince, or Nothing Compares 2 U, or Ignition (Remix). The Beatles. Elvis. Buddy Holly. David Bowie! David freaking Bowie! Come on, it's fantastic stuff.

(I don't actually dislike metal, although I don't listen to much of it. It's basically fine. But it's no pop music)
