I get the feeling OP. That's kind of how I reacted to Captain Julius Root from the Artemis Fowl Series. I didn't hate the character with a burning passion, but I kept getting annoyed whenever he made an appearance. Kind of like a "ugh god, please just shut your mouth already" feeling.

That's EXACTLY it!

Not outright hate, just a general "was that really necessary" reaction to the entire character
