Re: Ideas/plots you have that you're too lazy to actually do
(Anonymous) 2014-02-26 01:17 am (UTC)(link)I've only ever written the barest fraction of these. I've written around 500 odd fanfics over the past six years (of extremely variable quality), and probably over 800 since I started posting when I was 16, and it is honestly a fraction of the ideas I remember. (AO3 makes tallying these things a lot easier).
My problem is not ideas. My problem is managing to find space in the welter of new ideas to actually write down the ones I've got.
And once it gets past a certain level of complexity in my head, if it's been running too long, I kind of ... never really write them? They feel too big and unwieldy and I can't figure out where I'd start anymore. They just live in my head as neat universes to distract me when I'm in waiting rooms and lying awake at night.
My skills are variable, my patience extremely so, but I never lack for ideas.

This entire comment could have been me typing in my sleep (except I definitely haven't written 500 fanfics), but THIS LINE. This is exactly me. I feel such odd warm feelings towards you, anon :)
