Try for a high population server. Pick a normal (non PVE one). Choose whatever race you like the best (I am biased towards Horde). And a class. If you are used to hunters then I would suggest playing a hunter OR a warlock. My main is a lock so I can talk more about that.

I would suggest two gathering professions (mining/skinning/herbalism) to help make money.

If there are any LGBT servers, go for that -- they tend to police their shitheads a lot more than other servers.

Then they'd want Proudmoore. That's the biggest LGBT server on WoW as of when I last played a few months ago - at least, on the American/Oceanic servers.
