The dude captures innocent women, strips them, forces them to run so he can hunt them with his dogs, catches them, rapes them, then skins their entire bodies while they're still alive. For fun.

Nevermind that he burnt Winterfell and slaughtered all of its inhabitants, butchered Ser Rodrick, killed those two miller's boys, raped and locked up Lady Hornwood so that she starved to death, raped a 13 year old girl daily and then forced her to get raped by his dogs, and did allll that shit to Theon. Also, he's essentially a plot device used to develop Theon.

If there's anything that makes me want to read the books least of all, it's the notion that a psychopath who tortures and rapes people for shits and giggles is a plot device.

I don't know if plot device is the right word, but he is basically about as stereotypically evil as they come, though some fangirls try to add depth by saying he does all of that for his father's approval. Despite the fact that Ramsay had to stop himself from killing Roose when he tried to take Theon away and generally does whatever he likes even though his father openly disapproves of it.

I guess literally any villain is susceptible to the Draco in Leather Pants treatment.

Do you never read/watch things that have characters that disgust you? He's not a hero, he's one of the most fucked up characters in the entire thing and he's not even as fucked up as some actual medieval people that actually existed in real history.
