(Southerner here) My friends in South Dakota always thought I said 'door' funny. Uuuum how else am I supposed to say it?

But yeah seriously your accent is part of who you are, go on and rock it.

I think I almost make it two syllables, especially when I'm tired or just being lazy when I talk. Like 'doh-wer', I think.

I think we're on the same page, dawr vs doh-wer. My mom says daw-er. I say "door" with no visible drawl. I do have an accent on wild and child, though.

Everyone always makes me say "dog" and "fog" (and words that rhyme with those). And August. Apparently I sound like I'm saying "dowwg," "fowwg," and "Auwwgust."

I was completely unaware that I had an accent until I went on a class field trip to Washington DC when I was 13. :)
