So nothing in media can be offensive as long as it's fiction? That seems to be the logical conclusion of what you're saying.

I'm sure you're trolling but, the treatment of gay people in fiction contributes a lot to the way we're treated in real life.

So by that logic then gay men should be wary of 1000 year old Nordic vampires. Since we have a shortage of 1000 year old Nordic vampires at the moment I think they will be OK.

Yes, but I'm not sure a vampire targeting gay people is supposed to convey any message other than "this character is murderous and given the pattern quite likely a homophobe." A character doing something is very different from a series glorifying it. (Though I haven't seen the show.)

I haven't seen the show either. If there's a character killing gay people and it's seen as a bad thing then, it's not really my cup of tea but that is different.
