I really wonder where that allergy towards this sort of incest comes from. It seems that it's only that strong with USAmericans.
(and don't give me that eugenics-crap. it's absolutely not rational. eugenics only serve as an a posteriory legitimation of a gut feeling in this case.)
In my country, it's completely legal, though not common. Whether people find it problematic depends on many factors, like how close they were as kids ad so on. But it's certainly not a major squick, much less a collective cultural one.
I mean, even with incest between siblings (like jaime/cersei), which is illegal in my country, too, still I don't know anyone here who'd go "OMG!! Gross! No wonder they're the bad guys!! Incest is evil!". Where does that come from? Why even care? Does it touch a nerve from way back in pioneer-time, or what?
