Well, lemme give one example: Holmes and Watson. Watson we already saw how he reacted to Holmes supposed death in canon (he was devastated and wrote a lot of stories about Holmes but kept his head up and kept going.) I don't think he was hiding too much there, maybe just glossing over some of his feelings like he always does.

For Holmes, well, I can only say I believed him when he told Killer Evans in The Three Garridebs that if he'd killed Watson, Holmes would have killed him in response. Now, what he'd do after that I'm not so sure of. I suppose it would depend on the situation.
