lmao about "fading into irrelevancy"

Like every fucking artist since the dawn of time who has ever been relevant has gone back to being "irrelevant" in the eyes of the general fickle public at some point in their careers.

If she's a true artist, she'll keep making music whether she's "relevant" or not, and the real fans will keep buying tickets and albums.

I know I come off as insensitive, and if you really love an artist, it can suck to see them go from what seems like an awesome place to something significantly less-than-awesome. But that happens to everyone to some degree at some point. IMO it's a lot sadder when it becomes painfully obvious that the musician is struggling like hell to stay relevant. But if being relevant is all that matters, one can achieve that by dying young and at their creative peak.
