I don't know about you, but I was raised as a kid to never respond to "are your parents home?" with "No." If they're not home, you say they're busy and can't come to the phone/door right now because you never admit to being home alone. The idea that a guy would use a line kids are specifically warned about as a pick-up line is bizarre to me. Of COURSE he sounds like a thief/murderer/rapist.

Though I admit, I would probably be offended at the condescension, not frightened. Give me my goddamn pizza, boy.
