It's not the group's fault, but that doesn't matter to your feelings. Can you find something in the fandom that you like, maybe? Or maybe you can find your own thing.

Um, no? Most people who have half a brain in their heads--and aren't completely shallow little turds--don't get so consumed by a single interest that they dump friends who don't share it.

I met a friend in fandom. Seemed like we got along, then he picked up two new fandoms. I had interest in neither one of them and he dropped me like a hot potato. Even though it took a literal year of begging for him to meet me, he wound up moving in someone with the third fandom within 6 months of meeting her.

No point, I guess, only that some people are asshats who don't care about the feelings of others. :/
