I fell in love with the atmosphere and the cinematography of the show (didn't read the books), and with most of the actors, but I don't think it goes much past that. Still, I think the show deserves some credit for being so pretty? I'm honestly talking as an ignorant here, because I have no idea about the original plot.

I have to say though, that I can't imagine how the books could captivate me without the pretty scenery and good actors.
