Just in case you are serious, a lot of the reason slash is huge in fandoms is because it gets so little representation in popular media. Fandom is all about filling in the parts you want, and one of the things people find wanting... is slash. Why can't two guys just be friends, you say, but the real question is, why can't two guys be friends and then want to fuck each other on a show? You ask why you should have to put up with constantly seeing guy-on-guy, but the real question is, why should LGBT people have to constantly put up with seeing only het in popular media?
And far more interestingly, why do you assume that only straight people like straight porn and only gay people like gay porn? Not only does that ring false to me, but it implies that the slash fangirls who are "wrecking all [your] fandoms" and that you have such a problem with... are all gay people. You just made a secret telling us you have a problem with gay people.
Good thing you told us you're not homophobic though! Phew, for a moment there I might have started to wonder.
