Never enough fics for OT3s. So many OT3 fics have one of the characters as the bad guy, and the other two finally realise their twosome twu wuv, which is horrible and not what I want at all.

My OT3s are invariably mostly gay guy/bisexual guy/mostly straight guy. That combo hits everything I love.

Mycroft/Lestrade/John is a huge guilty pleasure of mine, even if most of the fics are only in my head. I have one huge long never-written post-Reichenbach story based in Mycroft's country estate which plays out like a never-ending Room With a View nirvana with dappled ponds, picnics, assassinations and angsty misunderstandings amid the crumbling stone piles.

Like you, I dislike one of the ships intensely (Mystrade). I can only stand this if John's in the middle. Though not literally.

My other big OT3 is Gumshoe/Edgeworth/Phoenix from Ace Attorney. I don't hate Gumshoe/Phoenix this time, it just does nothing for me whereas the other two ships have such chemistry. Throwing these three together makes so much sense in the incredibly convoluted situations my brain comes up with.

I can ship anyone with John. He is my fandom bicycle.

One of the first threesome fics I read was Sherlock/John/Mary, and that set a standard I've found hard to beat.

Sherlock was asexual with John in the middle, the link between the two others. It made all kinds of sense, but the best thing about it was that the writer didn't prioritise one of the arms of the relationship over the other. It would have been so easy to go Johnlock to satisfy the shippers, or John/Mary to satisfy the writer's inner fantasies.
