What are your favorite OT3+?

I love Bones/Spock/Kirk, Dean/Sam/Castiel, and Sherlock/John/Lestrade. Oddly enough, each of my OT3s has a ship in it I hate unless in the OT3 (Spock/Kirk, Dean/Sam, Sherlock/Lestrade).

Not sure what you're calling an OT3 here... Not to impugn polyamorous people, but I'm not sure the concept of an OT3 works with the majority of the characters we see depicted in media, just because there almost always seems to be some established concept of monogamy.

I'm also not really down with calling something an OT3 when it's just a love triangle though (as opposed to a triad), so based on that definition I don't really have anything.

I will read fic for Stiles/Derek/Isaac, Scott/Allison/Isaac and Derek/Stiles/Peter. I've read other OT3s in the past for other fandoms but these are the current ones.

And I'm like you in that for some of these, I don't like the couples by themselves. Just Scott/Allison? Only okay as a background couple. Throw Isaac in the mix and it's good. Just Derek/Isaac? can't do it.

I LOVE OT3s and OT4s and more. I have very few OTPs where I am staunchly devoted to just the two characters and not having anyone added. I love the dynamics of having three people or more in a relationship.

Some of my more firm OT3s are:

Celeborn/Elrond/Thranduil from LOTR

Ecthelion/Erestor/Glorfindel from LOTR -- I have a ton in Tolkien; everyone's so shippable :)

I go back and forth on El/Peter/Neal for White Collar. I prefer it as a non-sexual OT3 but then sometimes I just like straight up El/Peter with friend/surrogate child Neal.

Scott/Allison/Isaac are my OT3 forever but ever since Kira arrived, I've noticed it's gotten less popular. (Please note that I totally love Kira and even love the idea of her with Scott, but sometimes I just need my Scallisaac.)
Also I keep getting the feeling that they're not all gonna survive the season 3 finale, so that's putting my shipper heart on edge.

Never enough fics for OT3s. So many OT3 fics have one of the characters as the bad guy, and the other two finally realise their twosome twu wuv, which is horrible and not what I want at all.

My OT3s are invariably mostly gay guy/bisexual guy/mostly straight guy. That combo hits everything I love.

Mycroft/Lestrade/John is a huge guilty pleasure of mine, even if most of the fics are only in my head. I have one huge long never-written post-Reichenbach story based in Mycroft's country estate which plays out like a never-ending Room With a View nirvana with dappled ponds, picnics, assassinations and angsty misunderstandings amid the crumbling stone piles.

Like you, I dislike one of the ships intensely (Mystrade). I can only stand this if John's in the middle. Though not literally.

My other big OT3 is Gumshoe/Edgeworth/Phoenix from Ace Attorney. I don't hate Gumshoe/Phoenix this time, it just does nothing for me whereas the other two ships have such chemistry. Throwing these three together makes so much sense in the incredibly convoluted situations my brain comes up with.

Sherlock/John/Mary from the beebs show for sure.

Eska/Bolin/Desna in Legend of Korra, because come on Bolin could so have easily thought Desna was the sister first since he was taking a random (lucky) guess at that point. He'd have included Desna in his life with Eska during the desperation-at-the-end-of-the-world proposal! Eska doesn't even have to say anything, and Desna is at her side, or helping her swoop Bolin off his feet almost literally.

Red/Green/Blue from PokeSpe. It takes care of my juvenile need to keep Red away from my Yellow/Lance shipping is one of the few ships where I can't easily ship either of these characters solely with one of the other two. They gotta come in a set for me, but of course they never do.

Scott/Allison/Isaac in Teen Wolf makes so much fucking sense, and 3B sucks at nullifying those eye bangings and genuine concerns between them so of course I'll go down with it FOREVER \>:U/

Threechum. House of Cards. Fuck year.

Ramona/Scott/Knives from the Scott Pilgrim movie because that kind of really made me instaship it at the end there. Knives pines for Scott from afar, and mistakes Ramona for an enemy, right up until she's tag-teaming with Scott when she's hurt. /flappyhands

Apollo/Klavier/Ema. I should like Klema, since it's got similarities to Klapollo (which I love), but I really can't comfortably get into it when she feels so antagonistic about him, and he kind of keeps important info from her in the game (douuuuuche). But throw Apollo in there, and suddenly it's like he's an adorable neutralizer that makes Klavier less annoying to her, because now she's got an empathetic boyfriend who will make fun of their boyfriend with her. Klavier continues to get a rise out of both.

And an old one too. Tyson/Kai/Hilary. From Beyblade. Tyson/Kai is my OTP in that but Hilary is also shippable with both that if she's going have one, she's gonna get the other. everyone wins
