I didn't see it myself, but it's a 'thing' in the Jean/Marco pairing to come up with a million silly AUs and one of them involved 9/11. I never saw it because it was taken down after someone complained, but afterwards fangirls got all huffy about it because 'some killjoy' thinks that people can't make sad or violent fanfics!

No, you stupid fucks, it just means you cannot use a real-life tragedy as window-dressing for two pretty anime boys to kiss or die tragically or what the fuck ever. If you MUST involve a real-life tragedy then you need to treat it with the respect it deserves.

I haven't seen a holocaust/genocide AU yet but I fear it's only a matter of time.
