Notes:

As a note, social justice is not a fandom. Tumblr itself is not a fandom.

I wholeheartedly agree with the "why can't two guys be friends without having to fuck each other" part, because I think sometimes fandom glosses over what could be very rich platonic friendships to go for the slash bait.

HOWEVER.

It doesn't automatically mean their friendships aren't appreciated. And in media itself you could say this with a lot of het ships (I really like het pairings, but I'd also love to see more representation of genuine, non-romantic het friendships in media because they often have awesome dynamics and because we as a society have issues believing men and women Really Can Just Be Friends).

You're not being "slapped in the face" with anything; quit being dramatic. People like what they like. You don't have to like it. I know there's more to fandom than slash.

It sucks if it feels like that's really dominating fandom to the point where you can't get anything else, and I get that, but this secret seems really, really rude.

Also, and I'm sure people have already said this (haven't read the rest of the comments yet) but...if you have to say "I'm not homophobic..." at the beginning of your secret...maybe you should take a step back.
