+1 Especially when they dismiss all female characters as "just not being interesting".

Ugh! I hate that! Especially since I've seen so much gushing over male characters that are practically non-entities.

"There are just no interesting female characters! Oh, hello random, hot, male background character! I'm going to write an epic fic slashing you with the MC!"

That's such bullshit and frustrates me to no fucking end. I also hate when they say that because female characters usually aren't that well written to dismiss all of them. Um, yeah, a lot of times female characters are badly written or worse used just as props but there's a shitton of media out there and you're bound to find lots of awesome female characters.
