I'm as anti-SJW as anyone here, and I pretty much agree with you, OP. Hell, my least favorite SJW habit is talking a good game about better representation in media, then ignoring every single character in favor of two white boys. I don't mind diving for the slashbait, that's fine, if people want to do that and own that, I respect them. Likewise I'm cool with people who say they want more representation, and then actually support shows and movies that have it. My only beef is with the hypocrites in between.

Ugh! I hate that! Especially since I've seen so much gushing over male characters that are practically non-entities.

"There are just no interesting female characters! Oh, hello random, hot, male background character! I'm going to write an epic fic slashing you with the MC!"

That's such bullshit and frustrates me to no fucking end. I also hate when they say that because female characters usually aren't that well written to dismiss all of them. Um, yeah, a lot of times female characters are badly written or worse used just as props but there's a shitton of media out there and you're bound to find lots of awesome female characters.
