Notes:
As a note, social justice is not a fandom. Tumblr itself is not a fandom.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-04 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)There is sexism in the industry which results in tropes being linked with the sex of the characters, there is sexism in society which trains everyone to view the male perspective as the "normal" perspective and the female perspective as a niche perspective which can prompt girls and women to identify with male characters instead of female characters because that seems more "normal" even when in reality that's bullshit. Then there's all the shitty things society tells everyone about sex and gender and how they relate - and maybe that filters out into women wanting to use male sexuality to express and explore their own because they've been told all their lives that their sexuality is wrong or a weapon or both.
And all this relates to the larger issues of sexism in society - not specific women being sexists for not identifying with/being interested in media with lots of women.
