i pretty much always assume that's what a smut writer is doing...? so i wouldn't worry OP. write what you want.

Me too. I don't believe that's always the case, but it isn't exactly far fetched to think that someone might want to write about what they like.

Either way, I don't really see what it matters? I don't put too much thought behind it; when I'm reading smut fic I'm not wondering about the author.
