I don't read much genderswap fic but if I do I generally prefer both characters to be switched. The only exception is Thorin/fem!Bilbo which gives me all sorts of warm fuzzies(I ship regular Thorin/Bilbo too so it's not as if I prefer that over the slash version, I like both equally tbh).

Tbh I am way more interested in fem!Thorin which is rare as hell and which I think would be quite challenging and difficult to "get right" what with the character's personality and social status, whereas lots of time with fem! Bilbo fics I just find myself thinking, "Well you didn't even try at all," or, "Did you only do this to make them have babies?"

I would love fem!Thorin to be exactly the same honestly. Why don't female characters get to be tragically flawed in the same way as their male counterparts, dammit.
