I had no idea someone was making a musical for PD. I don't dislike musicals but I'm really picky about them.

I wish I still had the DVDs for this. I miss it.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can watch at least the first season for free.

You're not obligated to like things, OP.

If you want you can even pretend it's not canon or just read the summary without seeing the thing.

I, on the other hand, am looking forward to it.

Hm, that guy is plenty cute.

1. I found this really hard to read. Is it weirdly faint and blurry for anyone else or are my eyes just randomly going?

2. They're making a musical?? I am...torn. On the one hand this show had a lot of musical elements and scenes and I loved that about it, but on the other hand I don't know if the entire thing as A Musical would be something I'd be into.

3. If I'm being honest I will watch anything to do with this show. I love it so much and any kind of revival is something I will tune into.

OP

Yikes! I'm not sure why it ended up so blurry. :|

Hopefully this one's a bit clearer. I'm really sorry about that.

I'll bet Lee Pace likes musicals.

someone finally got it

...Because he's gay, or...?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-06 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh. No. I have nothing against musicals. I actually love them. But most musical episodes are awful simply for the fact that the actors don't have the pipes or the training to due musical numbers. I always get second hand embarrassment for them. (I am one of the only people who I know who did not like Buffy's "Once more with feeling" episode.)

(Anonymous) 2014-03-06 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Considering a fair few of the people on Pushing Daisies (Kristen Chenoweth, Ellen Greene, and Raul Esparza) are Broadway alums, Pushing Daisies isn't going to have the same problem Once More With Feeling did. Lee Pace is a passable singer, too.

And God, that episode is terrible.

For me, it works that the actors aren't prefect singers. Makes them seem more human, I guess? And I admire them that they're willing to sing anyway, even if they're not going to be so great.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-06 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
On the one hand, OMG MORE PUSHING DAISIES OMG I NEED THIS. I legit cried when they cancelled it.

On the other hand, a musical will annoy me very quickly.

On the other other hand, it's a bit difficult to complain about the musical cred of a show that boasted Ellen Greene and Kristin Chenoweth duetting on Birdhouse In Your Soul.

On the other other other hand... why can't they just give it a proper series revival?

OP Here

I know, I watched that episode a long time ago. It makes sense to showcase some of the cast's talents, especially if they have been on broadway before.

At the same time, I totally agree with you on the other-other-other hand. Perhaps continue the show as it was before, where it left off? (Maybe not exactly, but you get the idea)

Huh, if they're making a musical, I might have to actually watch the show!

Sorry OP... I love musicals.

Thanks for the heads up. :D

Well, to each their own, though you're welcome! The actual show had musical elements too, so hey, more of what you like. ;)

Same, anon. I really want to be open minded, but musicals just don't do it for me.

Samesies! Some of my friends are really excited for it. Meanwhile, I'm kind of the opposite, which is quite surprising since we all really like the show to begin with. I feel like I'm left out, or missing out on something, I guess.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-06 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
I love musicals, I loved (the first season of) Pushing Daisies, and I loved the way they incorporated musical elements into the show. That said, I looked at that news bulletin and went, "What? Why?"

I'm not always into musicals but I'm am so going to give it a try if it does come back.
