Ugh. No. I have nothing against musicals. I actually love them. But most musical episodes are awful simply for the fact that the actors don't have the pipes or the training to due musical numbers. I always get second hand embarrassment for them. (I am one of the only people who I know who did not like Buffy's "Once more with feeling" episode.)

Considering a fair few of the people on Pushing Daisies (Kristen Chenoweth, Ellen Greene, and Raul Esparza) are Broadway alums, Pushing Daisies isn't going to have the same problem Once More With Feeling did. Lee Pace is a passable singer, too.

And God, that episode is terrible.

For me, it works that the actors aren't prefect singers. Makes them seem more human, I guess? And I admire them that they're willing to sing anyway, even if they're not going to be so great.
