Deb. I love Deb. I agree there should be more characters like her. I stuck with the show but drifted off after it jumped the shark with Deb falling for her brother. Really, show? Fuck off.

I was okay with that (usually stuff like that pisses me off) but I wondered why they brought it up only to drop it a few episodes later.

hahaa, i loved it and i was so disappointed to pulled back with it.

I had such a huge crush on Debra. After hearing how the show ended, I'm glad I stopped watching before the last two seasons.

I only watched the first season but she was one of my favorite characters.

I'm a wuss and I couldn't take all the serial killing... in a series about a serial killer. I only made it through the first season as well.

But Deb was brilliant.

Heh. My swearing skills got a lot more inventive thanks to Deb.

Deb was such a great character with such wonderful dialogue that I'm furious with myself for continuing to watch Dexter to that godawful point with the irredeemable falling-for-the-brother bullshit. Huge insult to her character.

She is so funny and great.

Deb was one of the reasons I watched that show as long as I did. She was amazing.

She's pretty great. I watched the show for longer than you did, but I get the sense that I got out just in time (right before the Season 4 finale).

I only watched the first season, too (and not even all of that-only had the channel when I was traveling for work and staying in a hotel) and I loved Deb. I liked the contrast between the akwardness and lack of confidence on one hand and how she swore so much and could successfully go undercover as a prostitute on the other. Characters - of any gender - rarely get to be like that all at the same time.

I'm so glad that for me only season 1 exists. (Seriously, it's like Heroes. It's another show that tragically never had a second season. So sad)

I haven't watched the last couple of seasons, but season four was almost as good as the first. Definitely worth watching, even if you don't watch any of the rest.

Could someone tell me where I should stop watching if I want this show to have a happy ending with no / few loose ends? I'm up to season 5 now, and I know how the whole show ends, and I'd really like to bail out before the massive bummer that is the big ending hits.

Should've ended at s3, then. :( I honestly wish someone would have told me to stop at s4.

To stop watching Dexter is the correct way to watch Dexter.

Deb was so good and hilarious though. Not to mention her pulling off emotional scenes so well.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dexter until the last season which I despised.

Deb was always my favorite too. She's such a fun character.

The scene in season two - I think - where Dexter is fantasizing about telling Deb the truth and all her possible reactions remains one of my favorite things I've ever watched. She just killed the various takes.

I'm apparently the odd duck because I absolutely couldn't stand her. I think she was the character I hated the most out of the entire series. I found her selfish, obnoxious, and just all-around a terrible person. I wish the arsonist chick had set her on fire.

A colleague of mine, who knows I watch Dexter, said I reminded him of Deb after I let out some less-than-ladylike words.

He seemed very disappointed when I told him it's not Deb I relate to on the show, but Dexter.
Disappointed and a bit nervous.
