Every song from Pink Floyd's The Wall.

+1

I've always felt like Bohemian Rhapsody is an entire musical condensed down into one song.

Experts hypothesise there might be other songs from the 1970s, but we'll never known because none of them will ever matter.

Leonard Cohen - Chelsea Hotel No. 2
Neil Young - Old Man
Joni Mitchell - Raised on Robbery
Dolly Parton - Jolene
ABBA - Mamma Mia

I should have more rock on here but none are coming to mind. Maybe some Zeppelin. Black Dog?

Fairport Convention, "Doctor of Physick"

Oh Liege & Lief is the famous groundbreaking album (and technically came out in December 1969, making it debatable as to whether it should be counted as a '70s album), but it's 1970's Full House that proves that not only could they keep going after Ashley Hutchings and Sandy Denny left, they could even get better. This one is one of Richard Thompson's best songs of the era, and that combo of Dave Pegg on bass and Swarb's violin is just to die for. Fabulous song from a great album that's unfortunately a little overlooked in favor of Liege & Lief.

I actually love a lot of 70s music, even a couple Bee Gees songs. It would be a long list.

Electric Light Orchestra! Can't believe no one has mentioned ELO yet.

Mr Blue Sky - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjPqsDU0j2I
Turn To Stone - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFljpJdYRKM

Also the first two Devo albums came out in the 70s so you have Jocko Homo and their cover of Satisfaction. And The Rolling Stones! They put out some fantastic stuff in the 70s. Man, the 70s had some really good music. The 70s kind of ruled.

Also always liked What A Fool Believes by the Doobie Brothers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7-BBADPAvE) but I'm not going to pretend like that's not incredibly uncool.

Jethro Tull - "Thick as a Brick" Pretty much the whole album.

Hell, almost all of Jethro Tull, especially in the later 70s. "Minstrel in the Gallery" & "Songs from the Wood" for special mention.

I won't even start or I'll be here all night - either the 60s or the 70s are my favorite decade when it comes to music.

But I will note that one of my favorite things to do at karaoke is "Don't Pull Your Love", by Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds. Every single time I ask the DJ for it, they're like "...What? I don't know that one, or if I have it." And I go "Yes, you have it. And you know it, you just don't know you know it." And they look, and yes, they have it... and as soon as the first couple notes start playing, you see the eyes of everyone in the room light up, because yes - everyone does know this song, and they just don't know they know it.
