Yay, true detective secret!

OP, all I can say this: even if you are very similar to him (and we do have a tendency to project on characters we like, as fans), then he would still come across different people, situations, conflicts.

I mean, even if it would end badly for him - I'm presuming you're not currently chasing a sadistic killer who puts dead women on display, and therefore your situation s different.

Even if you were identical twins, then how he does (or does not) end does not reflect on you. You are your own person.

If you're anything like Rust, you have a bright mind that you can use for so many things.
