I can tell you from experience that fics/stories/porn often exaggerate how much prep is needed for anal sex. It really depends on the person. But I think half of it is because people find foreplay is hot.

And on the other hand, some porn makes it out as if no prep (or lube) is necessary at all. Ouch.

Yeah, speaking for only myself, I found the amount of preparation in fic to be wildly beyond the realm of overkill irl. It's like people forget that shit comes out that hole, shit that is sometimes pretty fucking large.

Yeah, one or two fingers was super easy. Definitely unexpected at the ease. A dick/dildo not so much. But not quite as much as some fic would have you believe. Though I admit to being a fan of the extensive fingering in fic.
