end of the world au, any fandom, doesn't matter whether it's zombies or world-wide power failure or whatever, i'm mostly interested in the survival aspect of the end of the world thing (if anyone knows any original fiction like that i'll take them too (except for life as we knew it because i've already read it))

Have you read the Embers series? (Original Fiction) It starts with Dies the Fire, which is, IMO, also the best place for it to end. It's pretty interesting as a stand-alone.
